I have a degree ceramic design from Glasgow School of Art and an MA in cultural studies from Hong Kong University. I have lived in London, Glasgow, Hong Kong, Beijing and Devon. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to study at art school after working as a nurse and midwife and change my career to full time pottery. Before 2020 I was teaching and making in London. I am influenced by 1970s British tableware on which subject I wrote my dissertation, midcentury art, design and interiors. This obsession influenced my appreciation of Hong Kong architecture whilst I lived and worked there and currently informs the designs of my new work that is inspired by daily walks on Dartmoor. I have sold and exhibited at Handmade Kew, Edinburgh and Oxford, Lustre, the Contemporary Craft Festival in Bovey Tracey and Cardiff. I have sold in galleries in Scotland and England including Twenty Twenty Gallery, New Brewery Arts and Art at the Hall.
